|Notes:||built in 1838 this dam was blown up Feb. 9, 1881 by 300 farmers, their sons and sympathizers, as it flooded their farmland. John Mader was employed to watch the dam but he was overpowered and carried to a nearby forest and tied up. He later became deputy Sheriff of Carroll Co. Blowing up the dam ruined the paper mills at Pittsburg and those further south on the river.|
