Notes: | from Recollections of Carroll County Indiana., J.H. Stewart: pg. 99: The old frame building at the foot of Main St. was built by Chevalier Richardson, elected recorder of the county in 1834. It contained 45 rooms, to be finished off in the most convenient and elegant style. It has a stable sufficient to accommodate horses without inconvenience and other buildings attached will be well fitted up. It commands a view of the river, the canal and the town. It was said by men well qualified to judge, that Delphi will be the largest town on the Wabash River. |
