|Notes:||From the Manual of Public Schools, 1904-5: Through the kindness of the city council the city schools have an unexcelled opportunity to experiment in a school garden. It is desirable that as the garden is developed there will also develop a course of study in the various forms of gardening. Each grade should prepare during the autumn for the planting of nuts in connection with the study of trees and plants. During the winter months preparations should be made for the spring planting of vegetables, flowers, and shrubs. A helpful outline on Agriculture is found in the State Manual.|
